The Boonsung Wreck was a former tin mining dredge operating off the coast of Phang Nga before it sank and became one of the most famous local dive spots in Khao Lak. The wreck was affected by waves and the 2004 tsunami, causing its structure to break into many pieces scattered on the seabed. Over time, the wreck has become a large artificial reef and a hiding place for many marine animals.

Approximately 14–20 meters, with the sandy seabed around the wreck at approximately 18–20 meters.

Dive Site Characteristics

The wreck consists of several metal structures scattered on the sandy seabed. Large schools of fish often inhabit the wreck. Additionally, there are areas in the crevices of the metal and sandy seabed that are ideal for searching for small marine life.

Boonsung Wreck is therefore an interesting dive site for divers who enjoy wreck diving, and it is home to many schools of fish such as barracuda, snapper, blue-spotted stingrays, and cuttlefish. If you're lucky, you might even spot a whale shark in this area.
