Similan National Park
Similan Islands, or Similan Islands National Park, is an archipelago in the Andaman Sea, located in Ko Phra Thong Subdistrict, Khura Buri District, Phang Nga Province. It is world-renowned for its crystal-clear waters and pristine white sand beaches, and is also a highly popular diving destination for enthusiasts.
Meaning of the name: he word "Similan" comes from the Javanese language, meaning "nine," referring to the initial number of main islands (currently there are 11 islands in total).
Highlight: Sail Rock on Island 8 (Similan Island), which is the symbol of Similan National Park, and a high viewpoint overlooking Horseshoe Bay.
